I am currently at the airport (again), sitting here, listening to the Audible Book “Reimagining Capitalism” by Harvard Professor, Rebecca Henderson.
After the first post I wrote on this topic, Reflections on COP28 (Part One) (read below), I started to get an influx on ideas.
There is a HUGE gap that exists in society right now, between those that custodian big funds and those that have the brilliant innovations and ideas that are needed in order to effectively move planetary consciousness and create sustainable, regenerative change.
Where is that bridge? What is needed here in order for us to sit at the same table and meet?
This led me on the idea path of “hmmmm, do I do an MBA and bridge this gap?”
I put up a post, asking for suggestions of institutions that teach the best MBA programs (or alike).
One recommendation I had, was to read Rebecca Hendersons work on Conscious Capitalism and so this week, I am diving into both of her books - Reimagining Capitalism and Conscious Capitalism.
At COP28 I was privileged enough to be able to sit at the table with many people who are bridging this gap. Investors and Founders/Innovators all sharing space together, in tea ceremony together, having conscious conversations about world change.
I have been fortunate enough, in this lifetime, to be able to be put in spaces like this, where I get to witness the seeds of change that are coming, that are already here, invisible to most.
I truly believe, that is because I am here to be a translator; to support the effective communication between people of different worlds (and money + power status).
So, right now, it has got me thinking and strategising - how can I support incredible Founders of powerful bodies of work, which I know have the capacity to really create ecological, sustainable and planetary change, to be able to speak the language of Business and Investment and present ideas that are inspiring and that speak to people with the funds to move their vision… It will need to look like - A Business School for Conscious Entrepreneurs.
My other question is -how do we bring Investors into alignment with businesses that are not just “profitable” financially, but that are also profitable (and, essential) for planetary change and progression?
They are out there - I have met many of them.
But, how do we bridge the gap?
I am currently having conversations with other people that are in these translator positions, like myself.
Something is brewing.
Watch this space.
