Well said- from a retired art therapist and someone who did not receive attunement & has spend the last 20+ years reparenting myself out of an abusive & neglectful environment

Being a single mom opened my eyes to the sickness of our culture. I was in a position to take my son to work with me when he was little but as he grew and his needs changed there was no support. We lived in South Africa at the time and I saw how sick white people's culture was with the attitudes to women and children. Black South Africans still had community where care for children was embraced beyond the parent. My son and I, however, were considered a burden in our culture. The mental health problems of his peers is testament to what you are saying. The white privilege of money and power is a sickness and it's so hard to go against the grain of the circumstances you speak of. As women, we need to acknowledge what's going on and stand together to take care of each other and our children. Thank you for putting your neck out 🙏

I hope that testimonies of this kind become the daily bread for future generations of women, mothers, and fathers—the latter called upon to safeguard the vulnerability of a perfect biological system, violated time and again by now-obsolete systems of power.

I am not a mother and never will be at my age, so my opinion is not high value in this debate. I’m so glad you’ve spoken out on this topic.
