I appreciate you writing about this aspect and this is where my compassion goes flat because I have sat with too many women over the years whose mothers knew. I frankly find it a little bit hard to digest that a person could so effectively and severely detach from their body through that much abuse that the residual signals could be so effectively buried to create total amnesia, but then to come to terms what happened to you and deny your own daughter...nah bitch, nah. Not here not to me. Call it empathy fatigue or what have you, but no.
Major complexities to this one -- as Justice shared in her comment, I personally find it unimaginable that this degree of penetrative sexual abuse could be buried so deeply in the subterranean layers of the psyche for YEARS. It feels like a deep denial of the Feminine -- which then she rather tragically projected onto her own daughter. I honor Gisèle for taking such a powerful stance towards returning the shame to the perpetrators -- but sadly, I sense the same injury or severance from the Feminine which "allowed" this abuse is still seen in her disavowing of her own daughter's attempt to emerge from the miasmic layers of the underworld.
